Sensei Yacinta Nguyen has been training martial arts for over 19 years. She received her Black Belt in Judo from Judo Canada in 2008 alongside Professor Dainis Nguyen. Yacinta also holds a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and trains under Professor Jorge Britto. She is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in the arts of Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She was on the Ontario Provincial team for quite a few years winning numerous medals. Yacinta also lived in Brazil for 8 months to train Judo with their elite athletes. She was on the Canadian National Team and lived in Montreal for 5 years to train at the National training center. Since transitioning over to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, she has been a force to be reckoned with and has won Gold at every local competition she has entered from the Ontario Open to the Abu Dhabi Trials.
She has also competed at the most prestigious competitions, the World Pro in Abu Dhabi and the IBJJF World Championships and has won a total of 9 medals(4 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 bronze) at these competitions. She has already beaten some of the best female black belts in the world and she still competes to this day. At the time of this post(July 2017), she is undefeated on Canadian soil and against all other Canadian competitionspetitors - she is clearly Canada's best and we are lucky to have her teaching here in Whitby. Along with Sarah, Yacinta is a great role model for all of our students especially our females.
